Now is the time for introductions! Greetings and Salutations! My name is J.D. Evans (on the right, in blue in above picture) and I have the pleasure of serving CSF this summer as the After18 Intern. I need to define a few things in that last sentence before I can let you know about what I will accomplish this summer. First off, who am I? I am a CSF Alum and a WVU graduate from 2010. As I finished my Computer Science degree here in Morgantown, I heeded God’s call for my life in ministry and began seminary studies at Emmanuel Christian Seminary in Johnson City, TN. I have always wanted to come back and serve at CSF, the place that fostered me during my formative Christian years, the place where my faith became my own. And I am fortunate enough to be able to share my love of Christ and of CSF with high school students from all over the state this summer through After18.

Choose Your Own Adventure
CSF will explore God, and our creativity, this summer by engaging and processing events in scripture. We begin by discussing what is difficult about the text and then what truth about God is evident. The final exercise intends to help us engage, remember, and process the text. Groups pick a passage, event, person, or verse and do one of the following:
- Write a modern day interpretation
- Write a more in depth account
- Write an alternate ending
- Act it out
The engagement and processing, about Sampson and Delilah last week, had me thinking about it in the days that followed. Come 7pm to engage, enjoy and Choose Your Own Adventure!
Fireworks, nerf guns, restoring Morgantown!
Success! MTMT - Spring Break 2013.
Isaiah 40:8 “the word of our God endures forever." Maybe someone thought it can’t hurt to have this word under the floor boards, so we left this under the floor we repaired.
Recovered nerf guns and "crossbow" aided our tool supply.
Note the mission trip first for all of us - we took a snow shovel!
No railing or handrails – Dustin is on that (figuratively speaking).
A cold hot water heater is no good! Michael Morey and Matt Law will insulate and cover that up.
Tiffany – keeping porch posts and workers level….headed.
Beth did a great job desconctruting and pulling nails out.
Julie with a drill! And Tiffany encouraging...she's always like that!
Lance made it this last extra day - making his presence on 6 consecutive mission trips with CSF!
Dustin Whitt ended with fireworks! The mission trip was over but we had one project unfinished. Dustin worked all day, left work, drove an hour to pick up Lance who had car issues, and they helped finished this porch. Good thing since I don’t think the rest of us had any experience installing a metal roof. Talk about resolve!
Well done 9 CSFer’s who invested in Morgantown for MTMT: Spring Break 2013! Excellent job Dustin, Tiffany, and Rachel for being at all the sites, every day! Many hugs and high fives for Tiffany organizing paper work, meetings, site visits ahead of time, preparing meals, quiet times, and more!
MT in MT: Mission Trip in Morgantown!
A group of CSF folks are fixing, repairing, and investing in our home town of Morgantown! We partnered with The Shack and their Community Repair Partners for a spring break 2013 mission trip in Morgantown. They look for and identify folks with disabilities and other need driven circumstances. This is a great opportunity to love our community and have a sustainable partnership with The Shack. We get to meet folks in the community, hear their stories, meet their children, and paint a powerful picture of Jesus and WVU! The Shack has been vetting needs for 30 years and have been looking for partnerships to help meet these needs. We look forward to this being the start of a long term partnership to bring hope, restoration, and encouragement to Morgantown. Thanks to all the folks that have given up part of break and are today digging out snow to work to invest in what will be a great long term partnership between The Shack and CSF!

Isaiah 58:
6 Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free
and break every yoke?
7 Is it not to share your food with the hungry
and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—
when you see the naked, to clothe them,
and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
8 Then your light will break forth like the dawn,
and your healing will quickly appear;
then your righteousness will go before you,
and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.
