Home Cookin' Feastival

You're invited to the 1st Annual CSF Home Cookin' Feastival on Sunday, September 2nd!

Everyone can enjoy some home cookin' as the new semester at WVU is starting. To encourage all the new students in Morgantown, a feast will be held in their honor featuring all of the foods they left behind. Bring an all time favorite dish, your mama's prized recipe, or your favorite dish from your hometown.

Check out the Facebook event and feel free to invite any friends or incoming freshman that you know! If you want to bring something, check out the sign up sheet next to the CSF kitchen!

Also, try to bring food no later than 6:00p so that we can set everything up. We're starting dinner at 6:15p so we all have time to talk and catch up and not have Gary yelling for us to "get upstairs"

Back To School

Class is almost in session! This Friday, August 17th we will once again be helping WVU students move into the dorms surrounding CSF. Many CSFer's, and some out of town volunteers, will be coming to serve some of the incoming students (and their families). It will be a long, tiring day so please pray that we can keep the energy and enthusiasm going and hopefully make some new friends!

If you'd like to come help out, check out the Facebook event here.  We'll be having breakfast at 7:30am and begin moving around 8:00am. You can stop by anytime though; we can always use some fresh legs to step up and tag out a weary volunteer!

Zumbathon!

Huge CSF event this Sunday in Morgantown.  A Zumbathon with all proceeds going towards the costs of a missions trip to Haiti and to CSF!

CSFer Rachel Gregory has organized the Zumbathon in cooperation with New Beginnings Community Church. Several other CSFers (both guys and girls) will be at the event helping in various ways. Many items have been donated by local businesses for supplies and prizes. Planning an event like this can be stressful. Thanks to everyone that has worked hard to make this event happen! Please pray for those involved and that it will be a big success!

Hardships

The spring break mission trip at CSF is always an amazing experience and this year was no exception. There are so many memories you take away from a trip like this that it’s difficult to describe to your friends and family. You try to describe the scale of loss that you find in a place like Joplin but your words fail to capture it. You try to recount the amazing stories of recovery you hear from victims but their impassioned words ring hollow from your mouth. You try to share the feeling of satisfaction you get from seeing the effect your being there has in the lives of these people but that is something you have to experience to understand. In the end, you feel like all the stories you share fall short. This certainly hasn’t stopped me trying, though.
